eBay shop gets Uberfied
The real test of any uber eBay shop design for us is if the design really helps in terms of increasing sales. We constructed the Barratts eBay shop with a bespoke design tailored to their individual requirements.
We were able to increase their level of understanding of the eBay marketplace and built our design from their individual requirements as enterprise level sellers and also utilised our own experience of how eBay really works, adding in custom filtered search tools with friendly UI ( user interfaces). uber eBay researched the number of sold items (sell through ratios) against the number of listings.
The shop was launched without issue, with the team at Barratts very impressed by the improved look, feel and functionality of the shop.
Did the new shop design give a good return on investment?
Six months after launch, the eBay shop sales figures continued to grow for Barratts, returning in the first 3 months sales figures equal to the previous 6 months (which included Christmas 2010) Below, we look at the key indicators for any eBay business.
The graph below shows the amount of listings compared to sales, three months prior to the uBer shop design going live. There were over 17,000 listings resulting in 3100 sales; three months after launch with around 3500 listings, the amount sold was just short of 7500 items.
Bids per listing have increased almost ten fold.
Sell through ratios exploded
Due to less listings being created and more items selling the sell through ratio has increased significantly, starting out at around 11% pre-uber ebay shop delivery the sell through has been doubling around every 6 weeks. It is now standing at 50% which represents approximately a 400% increase in sell through ratios. Achieving top rated seller status will only further increase sell through ratios.
No mention of sales value ??
We haven't covered sales values in this case study, not only because it would be unethical for us to do so, but also sales value is one of the poorest variables to take a measurements from when determining if a shop design has been a success. This is because a seller could have been selling items at £2.00 prior to launch , but then they start to sell items that are selling for around £50.00 each. What we can say is that earnings are significantly stronger.
What did Barratts have to say ?
